# 短标题

短标题（Short Title）是标题的缩写版，在引用时有的要求引文和参考文献都要显示短标题，尤其是人文科学的某些期刊，要求在引文中使用标题的短标题，这样可以帮助确定引用的是哪个文献。例如 MLA 通常要求在引文中列出作者姓名和具体的引用页码。

如果引文中有该作者的多个文献，MLA 要求在引文中添加短标题。如果文献的标题相当长，如「Burning the Midnight Oil: Tales from Working the Night Shift」，可以输入一个易记的标题，一般以标题的第一个单词作为短标题，如 ：

如果参考文献格式要求使用短标题，而短标题字段又是空，那么 EndNote 会使用正常的标题作为短标题
