# 格式基本组成

理解[输出格式](http://www.howsci.com/tag/output-styles/)最好的方法是打开一个格式看看

* **建立新格式：**建立新[格式](http://www.howsci.com/tag/output-styles/)方法依次打开菜单Edit >> Output Styles >> New Style。详见[建立新格式](https://app.gitbook.com/s/-LrgCHEEK5wsSALfCziF/output-style/Creating_a_New_Style.htm)
* **编辑格式：**编辑格式可依次打开菜单Edit >> Output Styles >> Open Style Manager，选择相应的格式编辑。[EndNote](http://www.howsci.com/tag/endnote/)会保留一引动最常用的格式，可以直接选择编辑相应的格式即可。详见[EndNote修改输出格式的方法](http://www.howsci.com/endnote-revise-the-output-style.html)

### 格式编辑窗口

选择编辑格式或者建立新格式后，EndNote会打开编辑格式窗口，编辑选项位于左列，编辑位于右列。前6项是格式的一般设置，其后分别是citations, bibliographies, Footnotes 和 Figures & Tables。前6项包括

* About This Style：关于本格式说明
* Punctuation：标点符号处理方法
* Anonymous Works：匿名文章的处理方法
* Page Numbers：页码处理方法
* Journal Names：期刊名称的处理方法
* Sections：是否分区，这个选项在一篇论文中包括不同部分，每个部分的参考文献序号又分开排号时很有用，如[EndNote同一文章的插入不同编号参考文献的方法](http://www.howsci.com/how-to-insert-citation-with-different-number.html)

其他的部分选项

* **Citations：**引文，是处理论文中输出格式的
* **Bibliography：**参考文献，是处理论文末参考文献格式的
* **Footnotes：**脚注或尾注参考文献，是处理在Word中脚注或尾注插入参考文献格式的，必须先在Word中插入脚注或尾注该项才起作用
* **Figures and Tables：**图表，是处理在Word中利用EndNote插入图表格式的

点击上述几个右侧的+号可展开详细选项，点击选项下的每个条目可以打开编辑面板，最后不要忘记保存。Save可能会覆盖原来的格式，因此建议利用Save As保存为新格式。

### 格式模板

在Citation, Bibliography, 和 Footnote 部分都有一个模板面板以及很多选项，可以更好的编辑格式。

### 其他格式选项
